Ragnaros's Attacks
Wrath of Ragnaros
Melee Knock back - When this ability is used characters in melee range are sent flying (Forward or Backwards) and knocked down Ragnaros will call out 'Taste the Flames of Sulfuron!'.
Very often you will come down in lava and have to find a way out fast or die due to the lava damage. It is resistable and your tanks should have high fire resistance stats (250+) so they can resist it most of the time. It hits for 1000 damage and is on a 25 second cool down timer.
The melee DPS characters should back away before the timer goes off to avoid the damage and thowback.

Ranged Knock back
Ragnaros can effect a player that is at a distance with a ranged knock back. This will knock them back or forward as well as knocking down and damaging other players around the player.
The area of effect is fairly small so with proper spacing no more than one player should be knocked down. The target is picked at random. This attack happens every 20-30 seconds and will be announced by Ragnaros saying 'By fire be purged!'

Lava Splash
At various times a lava splash will be triggered which cause large damage to all those hit. It will effect anyonwithin close proximity to a lava flow.
With decent fire resist (150+) it should be resisted most of the time. Damage is reduced by fire resist and normal re: 0FR/800 100FR/400 and 200FR/200.

Elemental Fire
This is a debuff that Ragnaros puts on whoever has aggro. This should always be seen on the main tank, if it is not someone is doing too much aggro and should slow down.
This does several thousand damage over a period of time, so the main tank must be healed constantly to prevent this from killing them

Magma Blast
If no one is engaged in melee with Ragnaros he will start throwing magma blasts at random characters. This ability hits for 4000-6000 damage so can kill most non tank players in 1 hit.
It is easy to avoid though, always have someone in melee range of Ragnaros!

Melt Weapon
A very nice gold sink that Blizzard implimented is that every time you hit Ragnaros your weapon is damaged.
The only way around this is to be prepared, if you are melee bring spare weapons and ensure the raid has a repair-bot for betweeevery few attempts.
Sons of Sams's Attacks
Mana Burn Aura
his has a fairly small radius but still covers 5 - 10 yards. It converts mana to damagfor everyone in the area at a very fast rate. Casters and players with mana need to clear the area FAST.

Ragnaros Strategy
- This fight against Ragnaros is much like that of Onyxia, it runs in 3 Stages.
- First stage is straightforward, and just like Onyxia's first stage, however instead we start DPS Immediatly after the MT Startattacking.
- Everyone opens up with full DPS right away.
- Casters have fun burn him down
- BUT NO FIRE, he is the Fire "god" thus immune to all fire damage
- Hunters have those arrows coming in like a machine gun. Aimed Shot, Multishot all work, Hunter Dots do not
- Second Stage consists of Sons of Flame, which i will explain below
- The Last stage, is the same as the first stage. We return to Stage 1 spots and open up DPS on Ragnaros ASAP.
- Groups
- Group 1
- MT1, MT2, Paladin, Main Healer1, Main Healer 2
- Group 2
- Main Healing Druid, Ranged Classes
- Group 3 - 4
- Paladin, Warrior, Roguesx3
- Group 5-6
- Melee Healer, Ranged/Casters, Paladin if have enough
- Group 7-8
- Ranged/Caster Healer, Ranged/Casters, Paladin if have enough
- Stage 1
- Last for 3 minutes
- Goal is Ragnaros under 40%
- All out DPS waste your manna as fast as possible wand when gone rinse repeat
- Mages FROST FROST FROST
- Melee dps will need to move back before the AOE Knockback it will be announced in voice and in raid
- Positioning
- Group 1
- is looking at Ragnaros and healers have thier back to the small wall there
- Main Tank1 is up in Ragnaros face
- Main Tank2 is off to the side doing DPS when can
- Paladin is helping heal
- Group 2
- Druid is with the Main Healers
- Ranged are with the ranged (see group 7-8)
- Group 3 - 4
- In the circle to the right of Ragnaros backing up when called for
- Melee doing as much DPS as fast as you can
- Paladin in group 3 - Judgement of Wisdom
- Paladin in group 4 - Judgement of Light
- Group 5 - 6
- Melee Healers are in range to heal the melle
- rest are in ranges spots (see group 7 - 8)
- Group 7 - 8
- Spread out with your back to the wall on the left of Ragnaros
- As far back as possible to avoid the Lava Splash
- Back to the wall to avoid the Knockback and the knock forward does not knock you to far in the lava
- HEalers spread out so you can reach everyone between you all
- Killing Ragnaros
- Don't worry about agro too much, if you get the debuff stop attacking, FD, Vanish, Fade, do whatever you need to the tank will get it back soon.
- DON"T USE FIRE. Fire enchants, fire wands, fire spells, fire anything they are worthless
- Locks scrifice any pet you want or keep any pet you want out.
- Ranged Caster bandage, pot yourself to keep yourself alive the melee will take a ton of heals
- Stage 2
- Will last for 90 seconds or until all the Sons of Flame are dead or CC (Crowd Controlled)
- After 3 minutes of combat Ragnaros will summon 8 Sons of Flame. After 1 1/2 minutes or once they ardefeated Ragnaros will reappear.
- Goal is to kill them in 10 sec or less. To kill one in 10 sec or less thus all 8 will die in 80 sec giving us a 10 sec buffer. Might not sound like much but it is.
- At 10 seconds before the melee and ranged will colapse to the ranged wall.
- Hunters FD and put down your ice traps to freaze them. Chain freeze them until a tank can get on it or the MA can
- The MA will pick a target EVERYONE not tanking or healing is to single DPS That mob down fast.
- The Paladin in Group 1 will pick a target to Judge Wisdom on, use it to get manna back BUT AT RANGED
- If you have manna STAY AWAY FROM THEM thier DOT will kill you.
- After 75 sec MT1 or MT2 will get ready to engage Ragnaros, which ever does not have a Son of Flame on them
- Raid continues to kill the Sons of Flame until they are all dead
- Stage 3
- Same as stage 1
- Goal is to finish off Ragnaros
- Stage 4
- We dance we scream we take off the head phones as we are deaf we drink to his defeat we watch Urik, the Beer Laden Dwarf, stumble into the lava dancing to his death we rez the dead we rez Urik only to watch him drink again we loot Ragnaros (hmm maybye Urik should stop drinking in battle.... BAH NEVER!!!!!!)
