First Aid
First Aid is a very important Secondary Skill for every class. Mages can sheep enemies and use the respite to bandage. Any class can benefit from reduced down time, since bandaging is faster than eating. Even priests and other healers can benefit from First Aid as a backup or to conserve mana. First Aid is especially important for raiding. There are several fights during which healers are dedicated to keeping tanks and other key individuals alive. You should be prepared to bandage yourself!

- Bandaging is a channeled ability. It can be interrupted by moving, or damage to you or your target. This includes damage from DoTs. Bandaging results in the Recently Bandaged debuff, which prevents the same target from being bandaged again for 1 minute.
- To advance past 150 you need to learn Expert First Aid. The manual is called "Expert First Aid - Under Wraps". This is purchased from Deneb Walker in Stromgarde, Arathi Highlands. You can read this manual once you reach 125 in First Aid.
- You need to purchase manuals to learn Heavy Silk Bandages and Mageweave Bandages. These manuals require 180 and 210 skill, respectively. They are also available from Deneb Walker.
- All three manuals are BoE, so you can have a higher level character buy them for you. Save yourself extra trips by buying all three at the same time. (Horde can purchase their manuals from Ghok'kah or Balai Lok'Wein in Brackenwall Village, Dustwallow Marsh.
- To advace past 225 you need to learn Artisan First Aid. This is learned by completing the Triage quest (Horde: Triage). The quest is available when you reach 225 First Aid and Level 35. This is available from the Trauma Surgeon. For the Alliance, this is Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen in Theramore Isle, Dustwallow Marsh. For the Horde, this is Doctor Gregory Victor in Hammerfall, Arathi Highlands.
- During the Triage quest, injured soldiers will spawn in several hospital beds. These patients will be either Injured, Badly Injured, or Critically Injured. Your task is to heal them using the supplied Triage Bandages. If you are not fast enough, then the patient will die. (As their names suggest, Critically Injured patients will die the quickest, Injured patients have the most time.) To complete the quest, you must heal 15 patients before 6 die.
- Tips for completing Triage:
- Turn on NPC Names. This allows you to easily see when a soldier spawns, and which type it is. (Set this on the Advanced Tab of the Interface Options.)
- Try to position yourself in the middle of the room, where you can reach several beds without moving.
- Target Critically Injured Soldiers first, since they will die first. However, if you can't get to them quickly, it is probably best to just skip them.
- Using a bandage is a channeled ability. This means you must stand still until it completes. However, you can switch targets while waiting for it to finish casting! Take advantage of this, as soon as you begin healing a patient, choose and target the next one.
- You can learn Heavy Mageweave, Runecloth, and Heavy Runecloth Bandages by talking to the Trauma Surgeon once you have sufficient skill. You can save yourself a trip by bringing enough Mageweave to get from 225 to 240 First Aid. Unfortunately, the necessary amount can be hard to predict.
