Welcome to the DTF Wiki

The purpose of a Wiki is to allow users to add and edit content on the web site in a quick and easy manner. Anyone can edit any document they desire. This particular Wiki networks "Keywords" and turns them into links to other documents. Although anyone can read the documentation stored here, only members of our guild can edit the information.

How does this Wiki work?

At the top of any Wiki page you should see small menu for browsing the Table of Contents, creating new documents, editing the current document (including this one!) and viewing a history of changes made to the document as well as idenfiying who made those changes. Clicking on any of those links should lead you to a page that should be self explanatory.

There is a short list of Markup Codes in the left margin of this web site that give you options for how to format documents. It is the same system used for the forums. View the Wiki Markup Codes document for more information on page layout.

How can I best use this Wiki?

They key idea is the "Keyword" concept. When a document is created, it has a keyword, like a title of sorts. Whenever that keyword is found in any other document, that word is turned into a link back to the document that has that word as its Keyword. This is basically automatic cross-referencing. It is best to try to think of Keywords that are in clear, general terminology and which are most likely to be reused by another guild member.

For example, let us say that Person A creates a document with a Keyword of "AQ20" and Person B creates a document for "Kurinnaxx" (the first boss in AQ20). If the AQ20 document contains the phrase "Kurinnaxx" in it anywhere, it be turned into a link to the Kurinnaxx document.

What are some good things to record in this Wiki?

Examples of worthwile things to record:

  • Raid Strategies
  • Tradeskill Knowledge (yes a list anyone can edit!)
  • Class, Skill, and Talent information
  • etc.

This main document should eventually be set up to be a switchboard for other areas of documentation.
