Lord Banehollow

Dear Journal,

This morning dawned clear and crisp, and I decided it was perfect weather to fly out to Burning Steppes to talk with Mr. Gorzeeki Wildeyes about the ritual items I need. I finally arranged for all of the supplies he had requested, and after retreiving them from my bank vault, I was on my way. Once I arrived, we made small talk, mostly about insects- that goblin is a strange one- and then I showed him the ore, shards, potions, and scales. Then came the shock of my life. Mr. Wildeyes takes my items, and tells me "I'll hold on to these until you are ready to complete your ritual." WHAT? In my mind I hear a small voice scream in panic. Did this goblin just rob me? I gave him hundreds of gold worth of supplies, and he's going to "hold on to my items" for me? My heart began to drum out a paniced deathknoll in my chest, and I decided to talk to his associate, Mr. Mor'zul Bloodbringer. Surely he would be able to clear up this whole misunderstanding. Alas. All he wants to talk about is Lord Banehollow. So, I decide, perhaps if I show my worth and speak with Lord Banehollow, I'll get my items back from that greedy goblin. I say a short prayer to Xoroth, and head back to Ironforge.

When I get home, it seems that Qex is a bit busy, and I am concerned that he'll think me foolish to have giving all of my things to a Goblin without assuring that I would indeed be compensated. So, like a fool, I decided to confront Lord Banehollow alone. I have purchased a potion from that nasty Goblin to convince the Jadenar cultists that I am one of them, and I was surprised at how well it worked. I was able to walk right up to good old Banehollow and have a very pleasant conversation. It turns out, he has a traitor in his midst. If I am to complete my objectives and be permitted to take some Xorothian Stardust back to Mor'zul, I will need to deal with this traitor. Not that Lord Banehollow couldn't deal with him- this is a test. One I was afraid I may not be up to.

Still under the influence of the potion, I find the trator, an orc named Ulathek. I confront him, and he gets angry. His close confidants assist him, but eveyone else looks the other way- I guess they figured this didn't concern them. I howled in terror, panicing several of them, and focused my rage on Ulathek himself. I was successful in taking out this traitor, and wasable to rip his beating heart from his body before my own frail form succomed to the onslaught of the other traitors.

Little did they know, I had a trick up my sleeve! I had stored my own soul safely in a shining bauble, and once the danger had passed, I invoked the bauble, stood up, drank another potion to disguise my intentions, and went, heart of the traitor in my hand, to Lord Banehollow.

The Lord was much impressed, and allowed me to purchase some stardust. I snuck back out of his domain and went home. Qex chided me for not asking for his help, but was very proud of me for defeating the traitor on my own. I was pretty proud of myself as well.

Now! To see if I could retrieve my relics from Wildeyes back in the Gorge. I hopped on a Griffon, grinning at the now tiresome joke that I might "keep my feet on the ground" and off I went. Well. So, I talked to that stupid goblin. He Accepts my stardust, and gives me a jar with an Imp in it. Apparantly this imp is trained to use the stardust and a parchement from Wildeyes to create an infused parchement. I'll need to take the imp to Sholomance's alchemy lab and let him do his thing. *Hopefully* by doing this next step I will be allowed to have my items. I am still feeling quite apprehensive, but Qex assures me that if this goblin were a theif, other Warlocks would have warned me by now. Perhaps by even posting a warning in the Warlock Discussion House. I am not so calm as Qex would like, but I am not fainting from panic either. It's a happy medium. I hope that perhaps some time soon, I will be able to arrange for some friends to come with me to Sholomance and I'll let the imp out. Maybe then will I get my items. I will not feel at ease until I know for sure that this goblin didn't steal all of my hard earned items.

Here's hoping. I will write more when this situation is resolved, one way or another.

So in plain english: I turned in 4 sub quests in my Dreadsteed chain, and was not given the ability to buy the parts I need. So, either they don't let me buy them till after I do the Sholomance subquest, or I screwed up somehow. The quests said "complete" in my log, and all that, so Qex says it will be fine and all of the things will appear when they are supposed to appear, but I think I will have a knot in my stomach until the items I need are in my tiny gnomish hands.

Awww, Sis, I feel for you!

I remember how I felt after I got Robes of Arcana for a quest - they were far nicer than the robes I was currently wearing, and I was so proud to show them to the Questgiver. And she *took* them, too! And though I *assumed* she would give them back in due time, I was a mite peeved that she sent me on many errands and wouldn't let me wear those robes while I ran all over town finding other materials for a truly Spiffy Robe. I suppose she didn't want the robe damaged before she could work on it. But I very much remember thinking to myself, "Well, if I had known you were going to *take* it, I wouldn't have shown it to you in the first place."

So . . . this is certainly not on an epic level like your fearsome situation, but it sounds like you fought bravely, and surely you will be rewarded for your efforts. I'll keep my eye out for any goblins who are selling your belongings on the black market, though. Good luck! Wish I was bigger so I could help out!

Grats Tootsa! Great job to all, thanks for inviting us along, it was an absolute blast!

BTW, when you spot Qex's pink bird in IF, make sure you take a peek at his wacky new gun, too, courtesy of Lord Hel'nurath, the boss-dude we fought.
